What better way to spend a day then to watch 2 states that
completely hate each other go head to head in a Title Game. With the Red sox
coming off a World Series win and the bitterness still in the Yankees fans
mouth can the patriots hand more sourness to New Yorkers by dealing a blow to
the Giants? HELL NO SAYS BIG BLUE.
IMO a Perfect Season means shit with out a Ring to go with
it. I will remember the 07 Patriots as a team found guilty of spying and a team
that performed the perfect choke at the end. With 2:39 seconds in the game and
all the defense has to do is make a stand and the patriots are Champions, but
yet the Slow and Aged Defense couldn’t handle what was to come.
Eli and the giants provided the Critical Blow to the
Patriots picture perfect season. It was like God was on the Giants side. After
all the close games the Patriots won during the season with less then 2 minutes
on the clock it was only fitting they would lose the same way.
The
Final drive was ignited on a 3rd and 5 when Eli escaped a for sure
sack and lobbed up a pass (which everyone and their mothers thought was going
to be intercepted) was pulled in by David Tyree (AKA the new Bucky Dent). The
drive was saved again by Steve smith when he completed a 3rd down
and 11. Then the icing on the cake came with a floater to the end-zone was
caught by Plaxico Burress.
There
was total shock as the Patriot and there fans saw there perfect season and pre-planned ticket tape parade come to an end. It was such a shock, That Bill
Belichick left the field with 1 second remaining. The feeling as a New Yorker
gets better when the coach can’t even handle the outcome.
